WELCOME TO THE OREGON VEIN CENTER
Are you considering having your spider veins treated? Do you want someone to evaluate your varicose veins? Here are some questions you might ask when you see a "provider" about vein treatments:Are vein treatments your primary focus or are veins just one of many problems you treat? At the Oregon Vein Center, vein treatment IS our primary focus.

Attention PEBB patients: PEBB has announced non-coverage for varicose veins beginning 2012. | | | |
Does the physician perform the treatments, or does some other type of health care provider do the laser or sclerotherapy? Do they even do microphlebectomy and foam sclerotherapy?
At the Oregon Vein Center the vascular surgeons do all the laser vein treatments, sclerotherapy and spider vein laser treatments. We also perform microphlebectomy and foam sclerotherapy on veins not suited to laser therapy. Where are the vein procedures performed? At the Oregon Vein Center all of our procedures are performed in the convenience and privacy of our office.
Are vascular studies (vein duplex or ultrasound exams) performed by a Registered Vascular Technologist, by a general ultrasound technologist, or by someone else? At the Oregon Vein Center, we have a Registered Vascular Technologist perform your diagnostic venous duplex (ultrasound) studies. re: Public Employees Benefit Board

How long has the practicioner or clinic been treating veins? Our vascular surgeons have been treating all types of venous problems for more than 20 years. Since opening the Oregon Vein Center in 2002 we have performed more than 1000 endovenous laser treatments, not to mention even more microphlebectomy procedures and sclerotherapy procedures. Is the practicioner a member of the American College of Phlebology? Are they board certified in phlebology? We have been a member of the American College of Phlebology since 1988. Actually when I first joined, it was called the North American Society of Phlebology. Dr. DuPriest was the first surgeon in Oregon to become board certified by the American College of Phlebology.Does it make sense to see a vein specialist with dedication, experience and expertise? We have been performing Endovenous Laser Treatment (ELT) , also termed Endovenous Laser Ablation, for more 10 years!. ELT is now the gold standard for treatment of saphenous vein insufficiency. Office-based and performed with local anesthetic means no hospital, no iv's, no general anesthetic, no spinal anesthetic. Walk in and walk out with minimal down time. Vein stripping is now (with a few exceptions) a thing of the past. Please browse our website and then give us a call. Doctor Robert W. DuPriest , Jr. Doctor Robert J. Welcome to the Oregon Vein Center web site! Our practice is devoted to caring for patients with venous disease. We specialize in treating patients with varicose veins, and spider veins on the face and legs using the newest and latest techniques and modalities. We also treat patients with advanced chronic venous insufficiency including venous ulcers. We perform the ELT Procedure (Endovenous Laser Treatment ),also known as Endovenous Laser Ablation , microphlebectomy , and Endovenous Chemical Ablation (Foam sclerotherapy). We employ compression sclerotherapy and laser therapy for spider veins , and utilize color-flow duplex ultrasonography for diagnosis of YOUR specific venous problem. We can avoid vein stripping in most patients. This means no more hospital or out patient facility fees. No more general anesthesia with the associated nausea and vomiting. And no more spinal anesthetic with the possible associated spinal headache. All our treatments or procedures are done in the office and require either no or only local (tumescent) anesthetic. We have been performing Endovenous Laser Therapy for ten years. We were the first in the area to perform this technique and have performed more than 1000 ELT procedures. Certification by the American Board of Phlebology :
